Our Institute takes over the four-year chairmanship of the Interdisciplinary Center for Physical, Chemical and Medical Sciences
The W. Szafer Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IB PAS), will chair the Interdisciplinary Center for Physical, Chemical and Medical Sciences in the next term (2021‒2024). The Center was established in 2011 by the Maj Institute of Pharmacology PAS, the H. Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics PAS and the J. Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry PAS. In the same year, the M. Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Kraków joined the Center, and in 2016, IB PAS. The aim of the Center is to conduct a common scientific policy related to the development of research potential, staff and infrastructure of cooperating research units. The Institutes of the Center implement this policy, among others within the established doctoral schools, where INP PAS and IB PAS are the coordinating units for the Kraków Interdisciplinary Doctoral School and the Doctoral School of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, respectively. The Center's Institutes coordinate and/or implement numerous projects included in the Polish Map for Research Infrastructures (Polska Mapa Infrastruktury Badawczej, PMIB): IP PAS ‒ 2, INP PAS ‒ 12, ICSC PAS ‒ 3, IB PAS ‒ 1.
